As the year draws to a close, many of us return to a familiar ritual—watching the timeless film Waiting to Exhale. 🌬 It is more than a movie; it is a mirror. A mirror that reflects our relationships, resilience, disappointments, and the quiet longing to be seen, valued, and whole.

As we prepare to close out the current year and intentionally step into 2026, Waiting to Exhale invites us into a sacred pause—a moment to reflect on the past, assess the present, and prepare for what is yet to be revealed.

The Power of Self-Assessment:

This season calls for self-assessment, not rooted in judgment or regret, but grounded in truth, awareness, and self-compassion. The characters in Waiting to Exhale remind us that unaddressed pain does not simply disappear with time. What we suppress emotionally eventually demands to be acknowledged.

As you reflect on the year, consider asking yourself:

  1. What did I tolerate that drained my spirit?

  1. Where did I shrink to keep the peace?

  1. What truths did I avoid speaking—to others or to myself?

  1. What patterns continued because they felt familiar, not fulfilling?

Self-assessment is the first bridge we must cross toward growth and transformation.

Releasing What No Longer Serves Us:

One of the film’s most iconic moments symbolizes something many of us long to do at year’s end—let go. Releasing is not about bitterness or blame; it is about reclaiming your power and making room for renewal.

As we prepare for 2026, we must be willing to release:

  • Relationships that require self-abandonment

  • Expectations rooted in external validation

  • Fear disguised as comfort or loyalty

  • Survival mode that no longer aligns with our growth

Release creates space—and space invites clarity, healing, and possibility.

Healing Through Connection and Courage:

Waiting to Exhale 🌬 also highlights the importance of community, honest conversations, and shared healing. Transformation rarely happens in isolation. It requires courage, accountability, and support.

As a Life Coach, I often remind my clients:

You cannot heal what you refuse to confront, and you cannot become who you are called to be while clinging to who you used to be.

Growth does not demand perfection—only honesty and intentional action.

Embracing Transformation Into Our Higher Selves:

As we look ahead to 2026, this is our invitation to step fully into our higher selves—aligned, intentional, and unapologetically authentic. The higher self chooses peace over performance, purpose over people-pleasing, and growth over stagnation.

Ask yourself:

  1. Who am I becoming?

  1. What boundaries must I honor to protect my peace?

  1. What does alignment look like in my relationships, career, and self-care?

  1. What is God, Spirit, or the Universe calling me to rise above?

Closing Reflection:

We are no longer waiting to exhale. 🌬

We are breathing deeply.

Living intentionally.

Releasing what no longer serves us.

And stepping boldly into transformation.

May 2026 meet you lighter, clearer, and fully aligned with the life you are called to live.

This is your season to rise. 🦋🥂 🎆
